Landscape Postmarks

A landscape postmark is proof that you passed through a place.
Some stop by the post office for their own collection, others to send a small note to a friend.

The postcard may be bought there, or prepared in advance.
What changes from place to place is the final touch: a dated postmark pressed onto the card before it leaves.

There is something of the journey itself in the printed mark.
At Oshima Post Office, the design shows the lighthouse at Tatsumaizaki and Kurosaki Island.

風景印

風景印は、その場所を訪れた証である。
自分のコレクションのために、あるいは友人への便りのために、旅の途中で郵便局へ立ち寄る。

葉書は、その場で買うこともあれば、あらかじめ用意して持っていくこともある。
版面はいろいろだが、最後に日付入りの消印を押してもらうと、その一枚がその土地の記録になる。

風景印の印影には、旅の気配が残る。
大島郵便局の図案は、龍舞崎の灯台と黒崎島である。
